Yes, having a supportive partner is important. But that's not always our reality. After spending majority of my adult life living paycheck to paycheck, rollercoaster credit scores, up and down savings, I decided to regain control of my finances. This was obtained through shifting my mindset and investing in myself.  I took the initiative to learn ways to change my spending habits, create a budget and just do the work necessary to change my situation for the better.
